TTD issued a fresh clarification on 13 September 2026. Social media posts had claimed only 15,000 private vehicles would be allowed each day. TTD said that claim was false and that no such decision had been taken. Check TTD’s private-vehicle clarification before trusting forwarded messages.
This does not mean every parking lot will have space. Traffic police can still divert vehicles, close a road, or assign a different parking area when local conditions demand it.
Where Can Pilgrims Park in Tirumala?
TTD has used several parking zones across Tirumala over the years. Some recur in official traffic and festival planning. The older version of this page listed MBC, SMGH and SMC with exact distances from the temple. Those names still appear on maps and third-party pilgrimage pages. However, this refresh could not verify current TTD support for all the old distance and fee claims. Therefore, treat them as local wayfinding names rather than guaranteed parking instructions.
If staff direct you to MBC, SMC, SMGH or another marked lot, use it. However, do not circle congested temple roads to reach an old online recommendation. Follow the lot that traffic staff assign instead.
How Tirumala Car Parking Works on Arrival
Tirumala car parking works as an on-ground traffic system rather than a reserved-space system. After the ghat-road entry checks, continue into Tirumala. Then watch for parking arrows, barricades and instructions from TTD vigilance or police staff.
- Enter with a working FASTag. Keep your vehicle documents and driving licence with you as normal.
- Follow the assigned route. Do not assume the closest parking area shown on a map is open.
- Park only in a marked or directed space. Note the lot name, nearby building, row or landmark before walking away.

Current September 2026 alert: the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams run from 15 to 23 September 2026. Garuda Seva falls on 19 September. TTD has announced a temporary two-wheeler restriction from 9 PM on 18 September until 6 AM on 20 September. The restriction covers the Tirumala ghat roads during the Garuda Seva rush.
This restriction is temporary, not a permanent rule. If you are travelling during a festival, check TTD News on the day of travel because parking and traffic plans can change with crowd conditions.
