Kanaka Durga Temple History :

Once upon a time, Yash Keela worshiped Goddess Durga rigorously and the Goddess was pleased and granted him a wish for which Keela asked the goddess to remain in his heart. Goddess Durga replied to him by saying, “My son, you stay here as a mountain near the river Krishna. I will remain in your heart after the assassination of the demons in Krita Yuga.

In krutha yuga, Goddess Durga destroyed the demon Mahishasura. Hence, the goddess is manifested on the Keela mountain with eight arms in the form of Mahishasura Mardini.

Since then, Indra and all other gods of the universe had been worshiping her every day. There is a Sri Chakram on the left side of Goddess Durga and besides that, there is an idol of Ganesha.
