Sravana Masam 2023 Telugu Calendar Start End Dates

Sravana Masam is one of the most auspicious months in the Telugu calendar. In the month of Sravana, people perform pujas regarding Goddess Lakshmi Devi. Sravana Masam is also known for various pujas and Vrathas that are followed by the people throughout the month. In the year 2023-24 Adhika Masam will be observed and due to that people observe two Sravana Masam one is Adhika Sravana Masam and the other is Nija Sravana Masam.

Adhika Sravana Masam:

Adhika Sravana Masam will be observed from July 18, 2023, to August 16, 2023.

Nija Sravana Masam:

Nija Sravana Masam will be observed from August 17, 2023, to September 15, 2023.

Sravana Masam 2023 Telugu Calendar Start End Dates And Significance:

This month is devoted to the worship of Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi because during this highly fortunate Sravana month, Mother Lakshmi’s blessing floods in abundance. As a result, this month is considered to be particularly significant.

Tuesdays and Fridays are two highly important days for worshipping any manifestation of the Divine Mother, and honoring these days throughout the month of Shravana is considerably more potent than doing so at any other time of the year. During the month of Sravan, worship is focused on Lord Shiva.

The Samudra Manthanam, also known as the churning of the sea, is said to have taken place during the month of Sravanam in the ancient scriptures. Both the Gods and the Demons contributed to the success of this endeavor in equal measure.

The mountain known as Sumeru Parvatha was used for churning, and the snake known as Vasuki, which revolves around Lord Shiva’s neck, was put to use as a rope. As a direct consequence of the churning, a significant quantity of very precious Gems surfaced from the depths of the ocean.

At the very end, a poison known as Halahal or Amruth was released, and it had the capability of destroying everything. Finally, Lord Shiva was able to save everyone from the effects of this poison when neither the Gods nor the Demons were successful in overcoming it. After consuming the full halahal, Lord Shiva kept it in his neck, which afterward became blue as a result of the poison.

As a result, Lord Shiva is also known as Neel Kanth ( Blue Throat ). Since this, the month of this festival is considered to be particularly fortunate because it is believed that Lord Shiva resurrected everyone during this time period.

Sravana Masam 2023 Telugu Calendar Dates And Rituals:

• The whole of the month of Sravana is considered to be exceedingly fortunate. During the Sravana Masam, the following ceremonies are performed in the hopes of receiving Lord Shiva’s blessings.
• Keeping a fast throughout the month of Sawan or on Mondays (Sravana Somavaram)
• After each day’s bath, go to the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and perform the Panchamrutha Abhishekam to Lord Shiva.
• You should try to recite the Maha Mrityunjay Mantra, Lingastakam, and Shiva Namasmarana as many times as you can. Offer the Bilva Patra to the Lord.
• Some of the devotees choose to fast for the whole of this month and present Lord Shiva with fresh offerings on a daily basis.
