This Linga is said to be Swayambhu because Shiva manifested himself as a blazing column of light emanating from it. This temple is visited by millions of people from all around the globe every single year.

The Syamantak Mani, also known as the Philosopher’s Stone, is claimed to be concealed inside the Shiva Linga at the temple. This stone is linked with Lord Krishna. This mystical stone, it is said, has the potential to make gold, which is supported by several beliefs. In addition, it is in charge of producing a magnetic field all around itself, which allows the Linga to remain suspended in the air.

Iron is used to construct the Linga, while loadstone covers the sanctum’s ceiling and walls. The function of the shrine guaranteed that the magnetic force produced by the loadstone would ensure that the Linga would remain suspended in the atmosphere. There is also a widely held notion that by submerging oneself in the sacred water of the Someshwar Kund, one might cleanse themselves of the sins they have committed.
