Mangaladevi Temple Mangalore Abhishekam Timings Cost Booking and History:

The architecture of the Mangaladevi Temple is reminiscent of a form of building common in Kerala. The walls of the temple are constructed out of enormous stones. On the inside walls of the Mandapam are also elaborate carvings in their own designs. The Gopuram is composed of two levels. Kshetra – Madiluka refers to the region that is enclosed by the rectangular walls that surround the Temple. Within the confines of this Kshetra are located each of the shrines.

The Dhwajasthambam may be found at the front of the building, just in front of the main door. Within the walls of the temple complex is a Deepasthamba that has statues of the 8 Dwarapalikas arranged around it. In addition, the Mangaladevi Temple has a spotless complex that is equipped with all of the contemporary conveniences that are made accessible to the devotees.

There are two distinct accounts of how the Mangaladevi Temple came into existence. Some people think that the temple was constructed during the reign of King Kundavarman of the Ahepa dynasty in the 9th century, while others believe that Kundavarman just found an already existing temple and expanded the shrine by constructing many expansions. There is a school of thought that holds that the Ballal dynasty of Attavar erected the shrine in memory of a murdered Malabar princess.
