Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple is famous because it is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Located in the historical city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, it is said to be one of the sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. Pilgrims all over the world make sure to visit all the Jyotirlingas at least once in their lifetime.
Three stories make up the temple. The lingams of Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwara, and Nagachandresvara are erected in the lowest, middle, and topmost sections, respectively. On the occasion of Naga Panchami, pilgrims and guests can only catch a glimpse of Nagachandresvara. Koti Tirtha, a very huge Kunda, is another feature of the temple complex. Sarvatobhadra architecture is used to construct the Kunda. Both the Kunda and its water are regarded as being extremely celestial.
