The four Deva Rishis (sages) Sankara, Sanakasa, Sanatkumara, and Sanatsujata are said to have been immortal and to have appeared as little children of five years of age, according to a tale. Clay was used by Parvathalu to create more statues of Nandi, Garuda, and the Cock since these animals have a special place in Subramanyeswar Swamy’s heart. After that, he put the deities in the Bhatti, which is a kind of furnace, and cooked them until the clay idols hardened and kept their form.
