Vakulamatha Temple in Tirupathi/Peruru is one of the important visiting sites for the pilgrims who visit Tirupathi to visit Lord Balaji Temple in Tirumala. According to the Puranas, we can know that Vakulamatha is the mother of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy. Vakulamatha Temple is one of the most ancient temples in Tirupathi and is located on a small hill near Peruru in Tirupathi. The hill on which the Vakulamatha temple is located is known as Peruru Banda.

During the reign of Sri Krishna Devaraya, the Vakulamatha temple use to receive regular pujas and there use to be a regular flow of devotees. But along with time temple lost its fame, but recently TTD Management developed the temple and now devotees are allowed to do darshan of Vakulamatha temple in Peruru. Vakulamatha Temple opens in the morning at 5.30 AM and closes in the afternoon at 12.00 PM, again opens in the evening at 4.30 PM and closes in the night at 8.00 PM.
