Lord Narasimha made an appearance in front of the Sapta Rishi and received the blessing of Mukti. It is believed that Varadaraja Perumal provided Darshan in his Garuda Vahanam to an ardent devotee named Doddacharya, who was unable to reach Kancheepuram owing to his advanced age. Doddacharya was unable to go there because of his devotion to Varadaraja Perumal.
There are 1305 stairs leading up to the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, which is perched at an elevation of 705 feet above ground level.
