Kartik Purnima 2022 Vrat Date and Puja Timing:
Kartik Purnima is a day of fasting for followers of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. In the early hours of the day, they also take a holy bath before reading the Kartik Purnima Vrat Katha. This Katha describes how the demonic Tripurasura was vanquished. A monster by the name of Tripurasura reportedly once succeeded in toppling the Gods and ultimately the entire planet, according to ancient Hindu scriptures. He is believed to have created three space settlements and given them the name Tripura. The monster was shot and destroyed by Lord Shiva when he arrived to save the Devas, who then declared that this day would become a festival of lights and lighting.
The Tulsi plant’s representation of Vrinda’s birth anniversary is commemorated on Kartik Purnima. On this day, Lord Vishnu’s incarnation in the form of a fish, Matsya, was also born. It is also believed that Kartikey, the son of Lord Shiva, was born on this day. The last five days of the Kartik month are considered to be the most sacred, and adherents maintain a fast by only eating once daily in the afternoon (a practice known as Habisha) at this period.
The Hindu scriptures correctly claim that the Kartik Purnima Vrat and Puja offer a path to Artha, Dharma, Karma, and Salvation
