Lord Vishnu holds the month of Margashira in the highest regard. This month marks the start of Dhanurmasam. In this month, Godadevi devotedly adored Sri Hari, who took the form of Sri Ranganatha Swamy and won her over.

The Mukkoti Ekadashi is unique from the annual Ekadashis. Only this Ekadashi is determined using Sauramana’s formula. The gods refer to the force that killed Murasura as Ekadashi, a power descending from Lord Vishnu. However, worshipping Sri Hari on the day of Mukkoti Ekadashi not only resolves a number of issues but also absolves one of the sins committed in previous incarnations. Shaivism and Vaishnavism are both promoted during several Hindu holidays. However, this third Ekadashi is the most auspicious day for people who worship Lord Vishnu. Vaikuntha Ekadashi is another name for Mukkoti Ekadashi. After completing all of the Vaikuntha’s decorations, Lord Vishnu grants darshan to his followers through the entrance on this day of Ekadashi.

Vaikunta Ekadasi Puja Procedure Fasting and Pooja Vidhanam

Vaikunta Ekadasi emphasizes fasting heavily. Devotees keep watch and fast throughout the day. It is forbidden to eat rice or consume anything made of rice. Additionally, non-vegetarian meals, onions, and garlic are strictly forbidden in Hindu families.

Here is an explanation of the Vaikunta Ekadasi Vrata Puja procedure or Pooja Vidhanam :

  • Another auspicious ritual to execute on Vaikunta Ekadasi is Lakshmi Narayana Vratham because this is the only day when Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi appear together.
  • There isn’t a particular law or norm that must be followed at Vaikunta Ekadasi. Similar to previous Ekadashi vratham, the ideal things to do on this Ekadasi are to observe a fast (upavasam), participate in Mauna Vratham, Hari Nama Sankirthana, visit Vishnu temples, and perform Vishnu puja.
  • On Ekadasi vrata, performing a Vishnu worship using Tulsi leaves is a highly meritorious rite. Offer Vishnu the 16 stages of the shodashopachar puja. As Naivedyam, special dishes like payasam and fruits are provided.
  • Chanting “Om Namo Naraayanaya,” the Narayana Ashtakshari Mantram
  • It is very fortunate to read the Vishnu Purana Parayana, Narayana Kavacham, and Sri Ranganatha Ashtakam.
  • The month of Dhanurmasam is ideal for worshipping Sri Hari, and the significance of Dhanurmasa Shukla Paksha Ekadasi is much greater.
