  • Ayudha Puja is a part of the Navaratri festival. Ayudha Puja is a ritual in which all the weapons and things related to the weapons are worshipped as Goddess.
  • Nowadays Ayudha puja is performed on vehicles along with weapons.
  • According to Puranas, it is believed that by performing puja on vehicles and weapons, they will be protected from sudden death and also sudden accidents and there is the belief that Goddess will bless them with longevity.
  • Ayudha Puja is more prevalent in Telugu states. And the day before Dasara Festival is celebrated as Maha Navami and on this day Vehicle puja or Ayudha Puja is performed.
  • People decorate their vehicles and weapons with various types of flowers and perform puja to the weapons by reciting Durga Stotrams.
  • After that Naivedhyam is offered to the Goddess and then the Ayudha Puja is completed.
