Significance of Vaikunta Ekadashi or Mukkoti Ekadashi
According to Hindu Sanathan Dharma, it is believed that on the day of Mukkoti Ekadashi Vaikunta Dwara/the doors of vaikunta are opened. so because of this reason in every temple of Lord Vishnu Vaikunta Dwara or Dakshina Dwara is arranged and all the devotees are allowed to enter the temple from this particular Vaikunta Dwara and do the darshan of the main deity. By doing so devotees believe that they have actually entered Vaikuntam and doing the darshan of Lord Sri Maha Vishnu. Each and every temple of Lord Vishnu is decorated colorfully with various flowers and all the facilities to perform special pujas to the main deity are provided to all the devotees who visit the temples on the day of Mukkoti Ekadashi/ Vaikunta Ekadashi.
On the day of Mukkoti Ekadashi/Vaikunta Ekadashi, almost all the people visit Any temple of Lord Vishnu and seek the blessings of the deity and perform special pujas and abhishekams. In some areas, there is a ritual of performing fasting on the day of Vaikunta Ekadashi/Mukkoti Ekadashi. This fasting will be continued till the next day and on the day of Dwadashi people complete their fast by taking food in the early hours.
