Ahobilam Temple Darshan Opening And Closing Timings Today

Every day Ahobilam temple will be opened in the morning at 6.00 AM and closed in the evening at 8.30 PM. Timings will be the same every day and they will be slightly altered during festivals or during the time of events.

In Ahobilam Temple the main deity in the inner sanctum appears in the form of Ugra Narasimha Swamy. According to the Sanathana Dharma and Hindu Mythology, Demon Hiranyakashipu is one of the biggest haters of Lord Vishnu but his son Prahalladha will worship Lord Vishnu. One day Demon will ask his son Prahalladha to show the god he is praying to. By listening to the prayers of Prahalladha Lord Vishnu appears in the avatar of Narasimha, half human and half lion. Lord Narasimha Swamy kills Demon Hiranyakashipu and protects the Earth from the demons. All other gods become frightened by seeing the Ugra Roopa of Lord Narasimha Swamy.
