The Sri Varahaswamy Temple, also known as the Bhu Varahaswamy Temple, is a Hindu-Vaishnavite temple that can be found in the hill town of Tirumala in Tirupati, which is situated in the Chittoor District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The temple is devoted to Lord Varaha, also known as Dasavatharam, who is the third incarnation in the series of Vishnu’s manifestations. On the grounds of the Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala, the temple may be found in the northwestern corner of the Swami Pushkarini property. The grounds are located to the south of the temple. What is the legend of Sri Bhu Varaha Swamy Temple in Tirumala?
It is stated that when Lord Varaha saved the world from Hiranyaksha, he retired to this hill on the northern bank of the Swami Pushkarini River and lived there. As a consequence of this, the Tirumala Hills are often frequently referred to as Adivarahakshetra. At the start of the Kaliyuga period, Lord Varaha acceded to Lord Venkateswara’s demand to provide him with land and did so. This marked the beginning of the Kaliyuga era.
Lord Venkateswara honored Varahaswamy for the service he had rendered by giving him the first bell, performing the first puja, and presenting the first Naivedyam before they were given to him. This practice is carried on in the contemporary day to ensure that the tradition is not lost. Pedda Tirumalacharya was the one who completed the renovations to this temple in the year 1535 AD.
According to the myth, the Naivedyam will first be offered to Lord Varaha, and only then will it be presented to Lord Venkateswara. In addition, worshippers are required to receive a glimpse of Lord Varaha in front of Lord Venkateswara. The visit to Tirupati is not considered to be complete unless the devotee has darshan from Varahaswamy.

According to local folklore, Tirumala was once known as Adi Varaha Kshetra, and Lord Sri Venkateswara is said to have moved here after receiving permission to do so from Adi Varaha.
Before going to the Sri Venkateswara Temple, visitors are instructed by the Brahma Purana to pay their respects to Sri Adi Varaha Swami by presenting him with an offering of Naivedyam. In the Atri Samhita (Samurtarchanadhikara), it is said that the Varaha Avatar may be worshipped in three different forms: Adi Varaha, Pralaya Varaha, and Yajna Varaha. The statue that represents Sri Varahaswami at this location is really that of Adi Varaha.
