Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Darshan Timings Today And Temple History:

Khatu Shyam Ji Mandir daily opens in the morning at 6.00 AM and closes at the night at 8.00 PM

When the fight in the Mahabharata ended, Barbarika’s head was supposedly buried in the neighboring town of Khatoo. This is one among the numerous tales that are associated with the founding of Khatushyam Mandir, but it is the one that receives the most attention. Following that time period, the location of the grave did not become known to anybody.

After some time had passed and the Kaliyuga era had begun, at some point in the future, a cow came close to the location, and all of a sudden, milk began to pour out of her udder. The people were taken aback, and as a result, they began digging in the area where the occurrence took place. After that, they unearthed the severed head of Barbarika that had been buried within. Therefore, they gave this head to a Brahmin, who preserved it and revered it for a considerable amount of time.

Roop Singh Chauhan was reigning as king of Khatoo (the village) at the time of the event in question. He had a dream one night in which he was inspired to construct a temple and felicitate the head, both of which he subsequently accomplished. The construction of the temple and its subsequent opening took place on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha (also known as the bright half) of the month of Kartik.

There is yet another telling of the tale, and this one is a little bit different. The wife of Roopsingh Chauhan, Narmada Kanwar, had a dream, and the ultimate power in the dream informed her about Barbarika’s head being buried in the location there, according to that narrative. Narmada Kanwar was married to Roopsingh Chauhan. She was given the instruction to remove it and construct a temple on the same land. After this, the location was excavated, and a head was found; this head was then set in the temple that was subsequently erected at the location.

Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Darshan Timings Today and Temple Architecture :

The Khatushyam Mandir is renowned for its exquisite architecture and was constructed using lime mortar, tiles, marble, and other uncommon types of stone. The deity is placed within the sanctum sanctorum, which has walls that have been exquisitely decorated with golden sheets.

The name of the prayer hall is Jagmohan, and it may be found immediately to the side of the main building. The entry and exit gates are both crafted out of marble, and the passageways include intricate murals on the walls that portray monsters from mythology.

In addition, there is a tiny garden called the Shyam Bagicha that is located close to the grounds of the temple. It is very lovely. This garden is responsible for providing the flowers that are used in the prayers and on the idols. Within the grounds of the garden is the samadhi of a significant devotee by the name of Aloo Singh.

In addition, the ‘Shyam Kund’, the location from whence the head of the Lord was recovered, can be found fairly close to the temple. This pond, which is revered by devotees, is used for bathing on a regular basis. In the surrounding area may also be found two other temples, one dedicated to Gopinath and the other to Gaurishankar.
