The Kalpeshwar Temple may be found in the Chamoli district of Garhwal in the Urmgam Valley in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is a Hindu temple that is devoted to the deity Lord Shiva. The fabled epic of the Mahabharata is intricately connected to the past of the Kalpeshwar Temple and its mythological beginnings. Vyas Rishi reminded the Pandavas that they were guilty of the deaths of their own brothers as a consequence of the fight and that the only way for their crimes to be forgiven was if Lord Shiva pardoned them.

Following an unsuccessful search in Varanasi, the five brothers embarked on a journey to the Garhwal Himalayas in an effort to find Lord Shiva. When Bhima, the second of the five Pandava brothers, was standing in the valley between two mountains, he began his quest for Shiva. He saw a bull grazing close to Guptakashi, which is also referred to as “Hidden Kashi.”
Bhima didn’t have to think about it for a second before he realized that the bull was indeed Lord Shiva. Bhima grabbed the bull by its tail as well as its back legs in order to control it. On the other hand, witnesses reported seeing the bull go under the surface of the soil before reappearing in five separate places.

The arms were found in Tungnath, the face in Rudranath, the nabhi (belly button) and stomach in Madhyamaheshwar, and the hair was found in Kalpeshwar.
