Swami Prabhupada, who started the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), was in charge of building the beautiful ISKCON Temple in Mumbai’s Juhu. In the 1970s, the temple was built. With the building of this temple, people were supposed to learn more about Lord Krishna. It is thought to be one of the most beautiful of the forty ISKCON temples all over the country, and it is always listed as one of the most famous tourist spots in Mumbai.

The ISKCON Temple has a total area of four acres, which includes the main shrine and the Heaven of Earth complex, which has a restaurant, library, hotel, bakery, and several rooms. Inside the temple, you can find idols of Lord Krishna and Radha, Lord Rama, Sita, Laksmana, and Hanuman, and Lord Gaur Nitai.

In the early 1970s, Juhu wasn’t what it is now. It was more of a remote area, and no one could imagine putting a temple there. Swami Prabhupada, on the other hand, did see it, and he bought the four acres of land (now called the Hare Krishna site) to build the temple, even though it was hard for him to do so. He was the one in charge of putting the gods’ statues in the building.

Since it opened to the public for the first time on January 14, 1978, ISKCON Juhu has become an important place of worship for those who are loyal to Lord Krishna.
