Temple of Guruvayur :

A complex set of rituals is observed in the Guruvayur Temple, and tradition attributes them to Sri Adi Sankaracharya. The temple opens at 3 am and closes at 10 pm following the day’s ceremonies and poojas. Three circumambulatory (pradakshina) processions of a deity on an elephant, known as Sreeveli, and five poojas are typically performed at the temple. There will be a total of twenty-one poojas held during the days of Udayasthamana Poojas.

What Time Does The Guruvayur Temple Offer Darshan?

  • Open from 3:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 4:30 PM to 9:15 PM every day.
  • Hours needed: 1 to 2 hours.
  • The temple opens at three in the morning for pooja. 3:00–3:30 a.m. Nirmalyam. 3:20 to 3:30 in the morning for Oilabhishekam, Vakacharthu, and Sankhabhishekam. The entrance is free.
