Grishneshwar Temple Darshan Tickets Online Booking Info and History

Kusumeshwarar, Grushmeshwara, and Ghushmeshwara temple are a few of the other names that are used to refer to this sacred building.
One of the legends is that Lord Shiva settled here after being appeased by the piety of Ghushma. Ghushma had a firm faith that the Lord would protect her son, who had been murdered, and she continued to pray in a devout manner, which ultimately resulted in Lord Shiva resurrecting the deceased son.

The architecture of this temple is similar to that which can be seen in the temples of the South, and it was built out of red rocks. The hall at the center of the complex has around 24 pillars, each of which depicts a different aspect of Lord Shiva’s life. Maloji Bhosle, Shivaji’s grandfather and a devout follower of the Lord, is credited for constructing the temple. Maloji Bhosle was a major devotee of the Lord.

Carvings portraying the 10 incarnations, or avatars, of Lord Vishnu may also be seen on the site. It sits atop the Sahaydri hills at their highest point. It is thought that Rani Ahilyabai, who was responsible for the repair of the temple after it was destroyed by the Mughals, is also responsible for the reconstruction of other well-known temples, such as the Kasi Vishwanath temple and the Shiva Jyotirlinga temple in Somnath.
