Mangala Gowri Vratham 2023 Date Timings Indian Calendar
Shravana Masa is considered to be a holy month during which one should observe fasts in order to get the grace of Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri. During the month of Shravana, the Shravana Somvar Vrat and the Mangala Gauri Vrat are both observed.
Devotees take the Sankalp to vow either to observe the fast throughout the month of Shravana or to commence the Vrat, which lasts for sixteen weeks, beginning in the month of Shravana.

The beginning of the month of Shravan might be anywhere from one to fifteen days earlier or later, depending on the lunar calendar that is used in a particular place. The month of Shravan starts on the Purnimant calendar, which is followed by people in North India, fifteen days before it does on the Amavasyant calendar.
Lunar Calendar is practiced in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat, Amavasyant. The Purnimant Calendar is used all across the Indian states of Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, in addition to the state of Bihar. As a direct consequence of this, around fifty percent of the Sawan Somwar dates are inaccurate across both calendars.
In the Northern states of India the month Shravan begins on July 4, 2023, from then onwards every Tuesday Mangala Gowri Vratham is performed by married women.

Mangala Gowri Vratham 2023 Date Timings Indian Calendar
Every single fast that takes place on a Tuesday during the month of Shravan is known as a Mangla Gauri fast. Mangla Gauri Vrat is the name given to this fast since it is observed on Tuesdays. The month of Shravan on the Hindu calendar is considered to be a sacred time for worshipping Lord Shiva and Mata Gauri.
During the month of Shravan, or starting at the beginning of the month of Shravan, the lady who is doing this fast makes the decision to fast for the subsequent sixteen weeks. Only women are allowed to fast during the Mangal Gauri festival. The purpose of this fast is to seek the blessings of Mother Gauri for a happy married life, and it is most often performed by women who have just been married.
In Andhra Pradesh, Mangala Gauri Vrat is also known as Sri Mangala Gowri Vratham.
