Bhadrachalam 2023 Brahmotsavam Vahanam List Online:

The four-armed Vaikuntha Rama, in which Vishnu presented himself to respond to Bhadra’a pleas, is depicted in the center of the image, which is thought to have manifested itself. Sita, Rama’s wife, and Lakshmana, Rama’s brother, are shown in the primary image. By some accounts, the Bhadrachalam temple was established, and other versions were rebuilt by the renowned Bhakti saint Kancherla Gopanna – also known as Bhadrachala Ramadasu – in the 17th century.

Under the rule of Abul Hasan Qutb Shah, the last Sultan of Golconda, Gopana served as the tax officer for Bhadrachalam (Tana Shah). Gopana was charged with squandering money intended for the Sultanate treasury to construct the Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple and was taken into custody. While serving a 12-year sentence, he wrote bhakti hymns that are being chanted at this temple today.

Gopana was set free by Sultan Tana Shah when Lord Rama and Lakshmana showed there to pay the gold coins the Sultan required for Gopana’s release prior to the Golconda Sultanate collapsing during Aurangzeb’s expansion of the Mughal dominance of the Deccan area. Gopana kept on writing poetry for Rama this time after that.

Brahmotsavam procedure in Bhadrachalam Temple:

The Vasantha Paksha Prayukta Srirama Navami Brahmotsavam, a twelve-day yearly festival, is the main temple celebration and is held between March and April. The primary attraction of the Brahmotsavam is Rama Navami, which commemorates Rama’s birthday. The Pancharatra Agama dictates that Rama and Sita are married on this day, and the ceremony is timed to coincide with the appearance of the stars Punarvasu and Abhijit. Officially, this celebration is known as Sri Sitarama Thirukalyana Mahotsavam.

Visesha Snapanam, a special washing of the festival idols, is performed to kick off Brahmotsavam. This is followed by Ankurarpanam, the ceremonial commencement, hearing the Panchangam dictation, and the Thiruveedhi Utsavam. Special prayers are said, and the Dwajapata Bhadraka Mandala Lekhanam, a flag made of white fabric with a picture of the Garuda, is produced.

There are five different colors included in the wax-covered Garuda picture. Through songs like Garudanyasam and Garuda Dhyanam, the flag is revered. The flag is brought to the Vedi (fire altar) and laid on a mound of rice after being placed at the feet of the temple’s main image. The ritual is concluded by offering 16 kalashas filled with holy water in an abhisheka (libation) to the flag.
