At the Kukke Subramanya temple, one of the most significant Kaalasarpa dosha rites known as Ashlesha Bali (also spelled Ashlesha Bali) is carried out. Lord Subramanya is revered for his role as a defender against both the Kaalasarpa dosha and the Kuja dosha. Kukke Sri Kshetra temple is the most known for Sarpadosha. Every month, on the Aslesha nakshatra, the ritual of Aslesha Bali is carried out.
